Why are the prices higher than what I see at most home retailers?
Because the materials and craft that go into what we carry cost more to produce. A solid hardwood board and a composite board coated to look like wood are not the same product — they just sometimes share a shelf. We carry the former. The price reflects what the object actually is, not a margin on something cheaper.
How do I know if something is actually well-made?
We write honest descriptions that tell you the material, the construction method, and what to expect over time. We do not write marketing copy that makes mediocre things sound exceptional. If something has a limitation — a ceramic that is hand-wash only, a wood that needs periodic oiling — we tell you.
Do you carry many versions of the same thing?
No — and that is intentional. For each category we carry a considered selection, not an overwhelming spread of near-identical options. We have already done the comparison work. If we carry one cutting board, it is because we believe it to be the right one at its price point. You can trust the choice without exhausting yourself making it.
What if something does not work out?

How often does the catalog change?
Rarely and deliberately. We do not add new things to the catalog because it is a new season. We add things when we find something that genuinely earns a place. The catalog is designed to be stable — something you can reference again in two years and still find relevant.
